Design philosophy

Doug's involvement begins while the home is in the conceptual phase. He collaborates with the client, architect and builder to create a home that reflects his clients' tastes and lifestyle. In every one of his designs, the objects, patterns, textures and colors are precisely balanced. "It's important that a client aligns themselves with a designer who shares the same vision. This brings the best possible outcome."

He says, "Experience and knowledge are the backbone to any project. Knowing how to mix different furniture and antiques, whether traditional or modern, is imperative because each client's tastes and preferences are different."

Doug believes that a successful design is more than just a look. "It's about feeling a sense of tranquility and comfort. The result is a synergy that reflects the personality of the individual client."
